Russian food influencer Zhanna D’Art, real name Zhanna Samsonova, passed away at the age of 39. The cause of her death was stated by her friends and family as starvation and exhaustion after the influencer decided to pursue a completely raw vegan diet in Malaysia. The official cause of her death has, however, not been revealed.
Even though Samsonova’s friends and her fans had raised concerns about her extreme diet, many of her followers refused to believe that her diet was the reason that she passed away. They went on to claim that it was indeed the chemical from the fruit she ate that contributed to her death. Zhanna D’Art was the second death that was caused by starvation, as last year, vegan mother Sheila O’Leary starved her 18-month-old son to death by feeding him small amounts of vegetables and fruits. She was sentenced to life in prison.
